Marjayoun (Lebanon) – On November 25, at the Miguel de Cervantes Base, headquarters of the Eastern Multinational Brigade Command in the United Nations Interim Mission in Lebanon (SECEAST/UNIFIL), took place the Transfer of Authority ceremony between the Spanish Brigades Guzmán el Bueno X, from Córdoba and Brigade ‘Rey Alfonso XIII’ II de la Legión, from Almería.

The Legionary Brigade took the name of Brigade Lebanon XXXVIII (BRILIB XXXVIII), and counts in its staff with the participation of seven Brazilian military personnel (four officers and three non-commissioned officers), inserted in the Brigade’s General Staff (MS), in the operations, intelligence, logistics, communications, civil affairs and protocol sections. After arriving in Lebanese lands, the XVII Brazilian contingent in Lebanon received the functions and orientations of the Brazilian military of the previous contingent. Since the year 2014, Brazilian military personnel have been serving with the Spanish Brigades’ EM in southern Lebanon in the UNIFIL mission.
