Caçapava (SP) – Around 1,000 soldiers completed the Aeromobile Combatant Basic Internship and received their Beige Beret and Brevet in a big ceremony at the Aeromobile Infantry Brigade on the 20th. These soldiers joined the army in organizations of the Fornovo di Taro Brigade and, since the beginning of the year, have been undergoing intense instruction and training as part of the formation of the Airborne Infantry soldier.

The Basic Aeromobile Combatant Internship trains the troops for use in operations such as airmobile assault, incursion and infiltration. The soldiers are also prepared to join the Brigade’s task forces, such as the Tamoios Task Force, which is trained for humanitarian aid operations, and the Fornovo Task Force, which acts to guarantee law and order.

Lasting one week, the internship was conducted in the different subordinate military organizations, enabling the recruits to carry out the specific functions of their fractions. To become an aeromobile combatant, the soldiers learn aircraft beaconing techniques, boarding and disembarking, fast hope, abseiling and helocasting, among others. In addition to this technical instruction, the soldiers are tested on their hardiness and physical fitness, with obstacle courses, combat patrols, marches of up to 20 km, among other exercises. The Internship takes place after the end of the Basic Individual Instruction Period and strengthens affective attributes such as courage, discipline and camaraderie.

The completion ceremony brought together around 4,000 guests at the Aeromobile Infantry Brigade. The graduating soldiers received their Aeromobile Combatant’s Brevet and Beige Beret – symbols of the aeromobile mystique – from their families and friends. The ceremony is part of the Brigade’s cult of values and traditions, marking not only the conclusion of an important stage in the training of its soldiers, but also the cycle of preparation, training and readiness of its Task Forces.

Fornovo di Taro Brigade

The Aeromobile Infantry Brigade is one of the Brazilian Army’s strategic troops. The training of 961 soldiers for the Aeromobile Troops reaffirms their commitment to the Army’s permanent state of readiness. These new soldiers are now ready and trained to act in the most diverse missions to guarantee Brazil’s sovereignty.
