Manaus (AM) – On Monday morning, September 12th, the Amazon Command (CMA) received a delegation from the Army Command and General Staff School (ECEME). Composed of senior Brazilian Army officers, the visit provided an immersion in studies about the action of the Armed Forces in the Western Amazon.

The Military Commander of the Amazon, Army General Furlan, welcomed the ECEME students and took the opportunity to talk about the importance of the work that the Land Force develops in the Amazon region. In addition, he highlighted the difficulties faced on a daily basis with operational logistics. “When the military comes to serve in the Amazon, I recommend that they come with a sense of Brazilianness, because when you serve here, you start to love people more. The military becomes different, I’m not saying better, but different!”, he explained.

The Chief of Staff of the AMC, Brigadier General Andrelucio, gave a lecture about the area of action of this great command, highlighted the characteristics of the region, the main problems and the search for solutions. He showed the subordinated Military Organizations and the Frontier Platoons, evidencing the presence of the Brazilian Army in the Western Amazon.

The Chief of the 2nd CMA Section, Colonel Rabelo, continued with the lectures, highlighting the main threats in the CMA area. The Adjunct of the BWC Operations Coordination Center, Lieutenant Colonel Falcão, presented the peculiarities of the current year’s Operation to Guarantee Voting and Counting.

At the end of the activities, Frigate Captain Magnago presented the operations of the 9th Naval District and Colonel Denys, Sub-Commander of the 7th Regional Air Command (7th COMAR), highlighted the operations of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) in the repression of illegal activities in its area of responsibility.

The delegation will continue its program in Manaus until Thursday, September 15th.
