The 23rd Jungle Infantry Brigade (23rd Bda Inf Sl) held, from July 18 to 22, the second phase of the certification of the Readiness Force (FORPRON), which corresponds to the virtual simulation.
During the exercise, the commanders of the Marine companies from the 50th, 52nd, and 53rd Jungle Infantry Battalions (BIS) and other military personnel from the Mechanized Cavalry Platoon and the Support Platoon, which are part of the Mortar and Recoilless Cannon Sections, trained in an immersive tactical environment, provided by the Virtual Battle Space 3 (VBS 3) software. This combat simulation program is widely used for training armies in countries like the United States and Germany.
The virtual simulation exercise is intended for fraction training and has as one of its focuses the correct radio exploitation. Another focus is the tactical use of collective weaponry in offensive and defensive operations. The activity is also an opportunity to practice the techniques, tactics, and procedures adopted in combat situations.
The virtual simulation seeks to lead the trained troops to situations as close as possible to reality, contributing significantly to their preparation for the field exercises with live simulation, which are carried out to complete the certification of the Brazilian Army’s Readiness Forces.
