Brasília (DF) – Between March 13 and 16, 2023, the Committee of Specialized Studies on Intelligence of the Conference of American Armies (CAA), Cycle XXXV (biennium 2022-2023), led by Lieutenant Colonel of the Chilean Army Nicolás Kaiser Onetto, promoted a seminar with the purpose of discussing the challenges faced by military intelligence in face of the new threats.
The event was attended by representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and the Conference of Central American Armed Forces (CCAAF), as well as officials from friendly nations that make up the Permanent Executive Secretariat of the CAA. During the seminar, different intelligence systems were presented and the legal scope to face the new threats was discussed, as well as the challenges that Military Intelligence will have to face.
The conclusions of the seminar will be relevant for CAA Cycle XXXV, in the process of transformation and preparation of the “Army of the Future”, with the purpose of expanding cooperation and integration in face of the challenges and threats that may affect the security and stability of the American continent.
