EMBRAER Announces Investment and HiringEMBRAER Announces Investment and Hiring

(ADNN) Embraer announced today, during a visit by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to the company’s headquarters in São José dos Campos-SP, that it plans to invest around R$ 2 billion and hire 900 more employees this year in Brazil. The aim is to meet the increase in aircraft production and the expected future growth with the development of new businesses, products and services.

The investment includes research and development of new technologies, such as those that will be used in the eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle), expansion of aeronautical services, which includes converting passenger aircraft into freighters, defense and security, projects to increase efficiency and expansion of industrial activity.

“Embraer is embarking on a new phase of growth based on efficiency and innovation. We are focused on capturing our full potential in the various segments in which we operate towards more sustainable aviation,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer. “And thanks to partnerships with the public and private sectors, we are expanding sales, opening up new markets and investing in new technologies, making it possible to increase exports of high value-added products and generate thousands of highly skilled jobs in Brazil.”

Around 90% of the hires will be made throughout the year in the operations sector, with vacancies for mechanics, electricians, milling machines, molders, aircraft maintenance technicians and experienced quality technicians, as well as opportunities for production trainees, who go through the training and qualification process with internal mentors. There are also vacancies for engineers and other administrative positions.

Last year, Embraer had already increased its workforce by 1,500 employees and returned to pre-pandemic employment levels. The company currently has around 19,000 direct employees worldwide, 88% of whom work in Brazil.

Embraer’s resumption of growth materialized in 2023, when the company recorded total revenue of R$26 billion and achieved the best profitability of the last five years. In the period, 181 jets were delivered, 13% more than the previous year.

For 2024, Embraer expects another year of growth with deliveries of between 72 and 80 commercial aircraft and between 125 and 135 executive jets. It expects to generate revenue of between R$30 and R$32 billion. Part of this growth is due to the partnership with Azul Linhas Aéreas, which is due to receive 13 E195-E2 jets this year, an aircraft that is a global benchmark for efficiency and sustainability. One of Azul’s aircraft models, still in the production phase, was presented and christened by President Lula during a visit to the factory.
