Santa Maria (RS) – In the period from November 12th to 18th, the 2nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battery (2nd Bia AAAe) participated in the Joint Exercise (EXCON) Escudo-Tínia 2022, an operational activity coordinated by the Preparatory Command and Aerospace Operations Command and conducted by the Canoas Air Base (BACO), which counted with the participation of more than 800 military personnel from the Brazilian Navy, the Brazilian Army, and the Brazilian Air Force, and more than 50 aircraft from the Fighter, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Rotary Wings, and Transportation Aviation.

The air and ground activities took place in the Canoas (BACO) and Santa Maria (BASM) Air Bases, and in the city of Santana da Boa Vista (RS).

The 2nd AAAe Bay acted in the exercise with the Anti-Aircraft Operations Center, the M60 Saber Radar Class, the Communications Class and the RBS 70 Missile Shooting Units, which enabled the training of its military personnel to act in various conflict situations in the air and anti-aircraft scenario.

The EXCON Escudo-Tínia had the purpose of consolidating the doctrine of composite air missions, training and qualifying the participants to face the challenges arising from the use of military power and complex military operations.
