Belém (PA) – On Sunday afternoon (29), part of the US military troops in Belém embarked for Macapá, in the state of Amapá, for Exercise CORE 23.
The troops are supported by a Boeing C-17, a military transport aircraft developed for the United States Air Force. The aircraft is used to transport troops and cargo, as well as for aeromedical evacuation and paratrooper launches. The flight from Belém to Macapá took around 40 minutes.
Around 300 American military personnel are on Amazonian soil to take part in Exercise CORE23, coordinated by the Northern Military Command. The exercise is the result of a cooperation agreement between the armies of Brazil and the United States, which consists of bilateral exchanges of experience. The activity takes place between November 1 and 16, in the states of Pará and Amapá.
