Many companies from the Brazilian Defense and Security Industrial Base (BIDS) have already guaranteed their participation in the event
The figure is significant: 70% of the stands for the 8th Mostra BID Brasil have already been sold since the event was launched on November 22 last year. This means that companies are securing their space in what is the main showcase for innovations in the defense area. The event will be held from December 3 to 5, 2024, at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center in Brasília (DF).
The aim is to showcase Brazilian companies and their technological and production capacities in a strategic location, the Federal District. It is there that products and services will be shown to a qualified audience: governments, congressmen, foreign military attachés accredited in Brazil, embassies, as well as delegations from various countries.
The Federal Capital is home to the Navy, Army and Air Force Commands, as well as 131 embassies from friendly countries, in addition to the Ministries of Defense; Justice and Public Security; Finance; Foreign Affairs; Science, Technology and Innovation; and Development, Industry, Trade and Services, which will all be represented at the BID Show. Brasilia is the ideal setting for launching the latest technological innovations and systems for use by the Armed Forces and Security Forces. In this environment, the BID Show promotes the industry’s connection with government bodies and Congress.
The president of the Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries (ABIMDE), Dr. Roberto Gallo, pointed out that during the Mostra the space is shared by ambassadors, Brazilian and foreign military attachés accredited in the country, as well as by
authorities, governments and delegations from various countries with purchasing power. “At the Exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to get to know the technological capacity and innovative solutions of national companies. They are the ones who contribute significantly to our country’s economic development and technological autonomy,” added Dr. Gallo.
For ABIMDE’s CEO, General Aderico Mattioli, the BID Show represents a unique opportunity for companies. “It would be no exaggeration to say that the event promoted by ABIMDE has achieved a global projection and is among the most important BIDS events held in Latin America.”
New features in 2024
The 8th Mostra BID Brasil has expanded its exhibition area. There will be two pavilions and an exhibition wing outside the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center. Another new feature is the Business Square, a service area dedicated to exhibitors to meet the specific demands of the companies that make up BIDS.
The show is organized and coordinated by ABIMDE and traditionally has the support of the Ministry of Defense and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Each year, the event has gained in importance and visibility. By 2024, the number of visitors is expected to increase by another 30%.
Recognized as the voice of the Defense and Security Industrial Base, ABIMDE promotes and supports national companies at home and abroad, and has actively participated in many of the actions that have a direct impact on the performance of its members.
