Brasília (DF) – From October 1 to 6, the Chief of Staff of the Italian Army (Ch EM Ex ITA) – Army General Pietro Serino – and his entourage paid a Military Diplomacy visit to the garrisons of Rio de Janeiro, Brasília and Foz do Iguaçu.
On October 2, a ceremony in honor of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB) was held at the Votive Monument in Rio de Janeiro, with the support of the Eastern Military Command, at which time Ch EM Ex ITA laid a wreath in honor of the dead of World War II.
On October 3, after receiving military honors on Avenida Guararapes, Ch EM Ex ITA was awarded the FEB Tribute Medal. This was followed by a meeting with the Commander of the Army and the Chief of Staff of the Army, among other authorities, in which matters of interest to both Land Forces were discussed.
