The Ministry of Defense, through the Secretariat of Defense Products (Seprod), is participating in the 4th edition of the Aerospace Fair Mexico 2023 (Famex), at the Military Air Base No. 1 of Santa Lucia, Mexico. The event, which takes place until Saturday (29), represents business opportunities, partnerships and cooperation agreements for the development of the defense sector. The country, which is already a user of aircraft from the Brazilian Embraer – EMB 145 AEW&C – is a potential buyer of the KC-390 Millennium freighter and is among the 30 largest importers of defense products from Brazil. The Ministry of Defense is working to expand the participation of the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base (BID) in the international trade of defense goods and services.

According to the Secretary of Defense Products, Rui Chagas Mesquita, the expansion of the IDB promotes job and income generation. “Our focus during FAMEX will be to stimulate the establishment of agreements between Brazil and other South American countries, increasing the participation of the Brazilian defense industry in the region. The increase in exports of defense products leverages our industrial park, with positive social and economic impacts for the country through the generation of jobs and income, advances in Science, Technology and Innovation, and the development of dual-use products, both civil and military,” he said.
