Marabá (PA) – Members of the 52nd Jungle Infantry Battalion took part in Exercise Munduruku VII between April 1st and 4th. The activity is part of the preparation for Exercise CORE 24 (Combined Operation and Rotation Exercise), which will be held on American soil with the United States Army.

During the activity, they were given instructions on Combat Conduct, Platoon Maneuverability, Immediate Action Techniques, Combat in an Urban Environment, Patrols, Marching into Combat, use of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) and Aeromobile Techniques.

The aim of the military’s continuous training is to ensure that the troops are available for deployment, both at home and abroad. It also helps to improve the response capacity of troops deployed in the Amazon environment, reinforcing a permanent state of readiness.

Task Force

The Task Force that will take part in the exercise, which seeks integration and cooperation with the Army of the friendly country, is made up of soldiers from the 1st Jungle Field Artillery Group, the 23rd Jungle Logistics Battalion, the 23rd Jungle Communications Company and the 6th Jungle Combat Engineering Company.

Combined Operation and Rotation Exercise

CORE 24 is the result of a cooperation program signed between Brazil and the United States, which stipulates annual bilateral combined exercises until 2028. Through these activities, troops from the two countries share experiences and exchange knowledge about doctrine and defense techniques, tactics and procedures, in order to increase interoperability between these Armed Forces.

So far, two editions have been held in Brazil, one in São Paulo and the other in Amapá, and one in the United States. Check out the CORE 2023 edition.
