The 219 Brazilian Army troops who will participate in exercise CORE 22 (Combined Operations and Rotation Exercises) in the United States disembarked this Friday, the 5th, bound for Fort Polk, in the state of Louisiana.
Between August 4 and September 6, troops from the Brazilian Army’s 12th Light Infantry Brigade ( Airborne) and the 3rd Brigade of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division will share experiences and knowledge about doctrine, techniques, tactics and defense procedures.
Exercise CORE 22 is the result of a cooperation program signed between Brazil and the United States that stipulates annual bilateral exercises until the year 2028, promoting interoperability between the two armies.
The exercise also aims to contribute to the improvement of the Land Force Operational Readiness System (SISPRON), certifying Brazilian Army troops for international operations.
