Between Wednesday (01) and Thursday (02), the Ministry of Defense (MD) held the “Brésil Sénégal Jours de la Defense”, a virtual event to present Brazilian aeronautical and defense companies to government and military authorities in Senegal. The initiative fosters the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base and projects Brazil on the international scene as a holder of technologies in the sector.

On the occasion, the Brazilian companies Atech, Avibrás, Condor, Desaer, Embraer, Engeprom, Inbra and Taurus presented proposals to support the Senegalese Armed Forces. The solutions covered radars; command and control; conventional weapons such as pistols, rifles and non-lethal weapons; aircraft; and naval solutions.

For the Director of Defense Financing and Economics (DEPFIN), from the MD’s Secretariat of Defense Products, Air Major Marcos Aurélio Pereira Silva, “it was an opportunity to strengthen the relationship with Senegal, as this is an important country for which Brazil has a broad base of technological and competitive industries that can help equip its Armed Forces.

The event was coordinated by the Trade Promotion Department of the Ministry of Defense (SEPROD/DEPCOM), in partnership with the Brazilian Embassy in Senegal, with support from the Brazilian Defense and Security Materials Industries Association (ABIMDE) and the National Union of Defense Materials Industries (SIMDE).
