On Wednesday morning (2), the Brazilian Ambassador to Indonesia, José Amir da Costa Dornelles, and the Secretary-General of the Brazilian Ministry of Defense, General Sérgio José Pereira, unveiled the opening ribbon of the Brazil Pavilion at Indo Defence 2002.

The exhibition, the biggest event in the Defense and Security area in Southeast Asia, takes place until Saturday (5) at the Jakarta International Expo Center. The Brazil Pavilion is organized by ABIMDE (Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materiel Industries), in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency).

The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary of Defense Products, General Luis Antônio Duizit Brito, the Director of Trade Promotion, Major Brigadier Antonio Ferreira de Lima Júnior, and the Executive President of ABIMDE, General Aderico Mattioli, as well as representatives of the exhibiting members.

The Brazil Pavilion occupies an area of over 200 square meters and hosts 18 Brazilian companies that accepted ABIMDE’s invitation to participate in Indo Defense: A.S. Avionics, AEQ, Akaer, Ares, Avibras, BCA, CBC, Condor, CSD, Embraer, Emgepron, Gespi, Kryptus, M&K Assessoria, Mac Jee, Neger, Siatt and Taurus. The large number of delegations that passed through the Brazil Pavilion, right on the first day of the exhibition, already showed the potential of the Asian market.

Among the authorities that visited the stands of the Brazilian companies were the Minister of Defense of Thailand, with his entourage, the Secretary of Defense Products of Indonesia, and delegations from the Philippines and Saudi Arabia. All were positively impressed with the capacity of the Brazilian Defense Industrial Base, signaling good opportunities for partnerships and business.
