Manufacturing Department

One of the main missions of the Manufacturing Department is to conduct nationalization processes, aiming at the replacement of critical or hard-to-obtain components, thus contributing to increase the nationalization index and the availability of the armored vehicles used by the Land Force. This process contributes to the country’s sovereignty, by providing the development and strengthening of Brazilian industry, in line with the demands of the Brazilian Army in the area of defense.

Leopard 1A5 BR

Leopard 1A5 BR is one of the combat vehicles of the Army’s Strategic Program Armored Forces, which aims to obtain armored vehicles on wheels and on tracks, as well as their subsystem components, such as weapons and communications systems, contributing to transform the Motorized Infantry into Mechanized Infantry (Inf Mec) and modernize the Mechanized Cavalry (Cav Mec) and the Armored Infantry and Cavalry (Bld).

The program also fosters research, development, and innovation in the country for various solutions in defense and security products, such as the various versions of the wheeled armored vehicle family and the modernization of wheeled and tracked vehicles, as well as the technological remote controlled weapon systems and command and control systems (C2).
