Brasília, 09/9/2022 – Stimulate patriotism! This is the purpose of the celebrations for the 200 years of Brazil’s Independence, which are already taking place all over the country and are scheduled until December 2023. The events programmed by the Armed Forces rescue history and pay tribute to the Brazilian heroes who actively contributed to the preservation of national sovereignty.
The Ministry of Defense, through the Brazilian Navy (MB), the Brazilian Army (EB), and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), promotes more than 200 events, which include cultural exhibitions, launchings of literary works, musical presentations, seminars, and sports competitions.
Among the activities are the launching of the submarine Tonelero, the integration of the submarine Angostura, the transference of the submarine Humaitá to the operational sector, and the armament show, in December of this year, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Another highlight is the “200 Years of Independence” concert, with a presentation by the Marine Corps Symphonic Band, also in December, in Florianópolis (SC).
The FAB’s Smoke Squadron will perform at the Aerospace Museum, in Rio de Janeiro, on September 24 and 25. In October, the Music Bands from the Air Cadets Preparatory School and the Barbacena Military Police, together with students from the schools, will perform in Barbacena (MG).
The Ministry of Defense is part of the Interministerial Commission for the Bicentennial of Independence. On the official website of the Ministry of Defense, you can access the complete program of the main activities planned by the Armed Forces.
