ABIMDE (Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Industries) and ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) are carrying out a mission to prospect new opportunities to promote Brazilian Defense and Security Products in the Indian market.
During this week, Colonel Antonio Ribeiro, ABIMDE’s Project Director, together with Mr. Anirudh Sharma, from ApexBrasil’s office in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), will visit DefExpo 2022, in India, to evaluate the feasibility of organizing a “Brazil Pavilion” at the next edition of the event.
Considered the biggest defense and security material exhibition in India, DefExpo 2022 started on Tuesday (18) and continues until Saturday (22) in the city of Gandhinagar. The objective of the mission is to generate opportunities so that the Brazilian defense and security industries can show the Indian government and the Asian market all their capabilities and potential, and thus repeat the successful initiative of some companies that have already started very productive partnerships with local companies.

ABIMDE works in close interaction with the Brazilian Ministry of Defense which, through the Secretariat of Defense Products (SEPROD), is also present at DefExpo 2022.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Brazilian participation in the event allows for the increase of partnerships aimed at technological and industrial development in the area of Defense and the expansion of relationships with governments and armed forces of friendly countries and their respective defense industries.
On Tuesday (18), the Director of the Defense Products Department, Rear-Admiral Vagner Belarmino, participated in a bilateral meeting with the Indian Defense Secretary, Mr. Ajay Kumar, during which issues related to defense cooperation were discussed.
