Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – Officers from the US Army’s Command and General Staff Course held an exchange at the Brazilian Army’s Command and General Staff College from May 13 to 17. The school, based in Rio de Janeiro, hosted two instructors and ten students from the Command and General Staff College. The activities took place in the context of the Brazil-United States Bilateral Conference.

During the exchange, lectures were held on topics of interest to the schools, as well as a combined conceptual and detailed planning exercise, a demonstration of constructive and virtual simulation, and an after-action analysis. The US officers also visited the school’s facilities and historic military organizations in the Rio de Janeiro garrison.

The aim of the exchange was to promote the sharing of knowledge and experience in the areas of military education, planning and conducting land operations and humanitarian aid operations. In addition, the meeting between students and instructors from the two command and staff schools strengthens the relationship of friendship and mutual respect between the armies of the two nations.
