Taurus and Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos (CBC), Strategic Defense Companies and the world’s leading manufacturers of arms and ammunition, were present at the XV Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas (CMDA), which brought together representatives from 34 American countries in Brasília, in the Federal District.

On the occasion, the companies presented to the authorities their broad product portfolios dedicated to military forces and recognized worldwide in more than 100 countries.

The event, coordinated by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces (EMCFA), with support from ABIMDE (Brazilian Association of Defense and Security Materials Industries), takes place from July 25 to 29, 20 companies from the Defense and Security Industrial Base (BIDS) are participating.

The CMDA is made up of 34 Ministries of Defense and Security from the American Continent, belonging to the following countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominica, Ecuador, El Salvador, United States of America, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas is an international multilateral political meeting held every two years since 1995, during which time a member country assumes the chairmanship. The meeting aims to promote reciprocal knowledge, analysis, debate, and exchange of ideas and experiences in the area of Defense and Security.

Besides this, it has the strategic objective of promoting actions that strengthen relations with the Armed Forces of partner nations, aiming at international cooperation and security. It is also an important opportunity to project Brazil abroad. Brazil was designated as host country and assumed the commitment to chair the XV CMDA in the biennium 2021-2022, in order to contribute to conflict deterrence and improve support to foreign policy.

During the Conference, the capabilities and potentialities of the national defense and security industry will be highlighted and the Ministers of Defense will be invited to get to know the technologies and products developed in Brazil during the 7th Brazil IDB Show, to be held on December 6th and 8th of this year in Brasilia (DF).

One of the most important events in the country in the defense and security segments, the Brazil IDB Show brings together the main companies and institutions in these markets, promoting a business agenda, networking and the dissemination of knowledge and technological innovations.

During the three days of the event, which is held by ABIMDE in partnership with ApexBrasil, Taurus and CBC will be present and exhibiting their complete portfolios of arms and ammunition, including innovative and high-performance solutions produced for the segment, valuing the Defense Industrial Base, for a qualified public, which includes foreign delegations and specialized professionals.

Among the products on display, especially developed for police and military use, the highlight was the renowned Taurus T4 rifle and the TS9 pistol from the renowned TSeries line.
