The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) held, from July 12th to 14th, the 12th Integration Symposium with the objective of leveling knowledge and facilitating the coordination and standardization of actions that involve the development and acquisition of new aircraft in FAB’s strategic projects, such as the KC-390, the F-X2, the KC-30 and the TH-X. The event, promoted by the Air Force Staff (EMAER), brought together representatives from the Preparedness Command (COMPREP), Aerospace Operations Command (COMAE), General Staff Command (COMGEP), General Support Command (COMGAP), Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA) and Department of Airspace Control (DECEA).

During the three-day event, the military discussed the progress of the actions that need to be taken by several FAB Military Organizations throughout the country. In the opportunity, the Chief of EMAER’s Seventh Subheading, Air Brigadier Roberto da Cunha Follador, highlighted the importance of gathering the main actors involved in the management of these projects.

“All major projects managed at FAB involve several stakeholders and a large team from the Institution. Moments like this allow a greater and more frank interaction in a very controlled environment that a videoconference does not provide, for example. Each actor will expose his logistical point of view, his difficulties and, suddenly, receive help or show the others how this difficulty or potentiality will impact each one of the projects”, explained the General Officer.

Also according to Brigadier Follador, the implementation of a working group to monitor the strategic programs of the Force enables the continuity of an information flow among all the Sectorial Direction Organs (SDB) involved, aiming at building and maintaining an increasingly modern Air Force. “It is a very up-to-date vision in the environment of project, program, and portfolio management that brings to the Air Force the capacity and the possibility of treading in a very consistent way this path towards the Air Force of the future. If we stop to think about it, for example, we are already in a future that was unthinkable a few years ago,” he concluded.
