Operation “Sandstorm” marked the end of the first phase

Members of the Marine Corps who are taking part in the Special Course on Amphibious Commandos (C-Esp-ComAnf) concluded the last week of the initial phase of the course, last Friday (30). At this stage, the emphasis is on the physical and psychological selection of the future Brazilian Navy Amphibious Commandos. Many personal attributes were required, such as resilience, courage, initiative and leadership.

The week began with Operation “Sandstorm”, a 42 km march over 14 hours over soft sandy terrain through the Restinga da Marambaia and onto the island of the same name in Rio de Janeiro. After the march, the traditional event of the course, the students went through a series of exercises, with the highlight being the Leader Reaction Test, in which several characteristics are tested.

The Fight Track marked the end of the week. This is an important moment for all the military who participate in the training, when the students put into practice the techniques taught in the self-defense classes.
