“Discipline, Love and Courage” are the pillars of the Student Code of Honor at the School of Aeronautical Specialists (EEAR). It was inspired by this motto that Sergeant Everton Bruno Batista Augusto, of the Aircraft Mechanics specialty (BMA), a native of Aparecida (SP), joined the FAB to take the Sergeants’ Training Course (CFS) on January 20, 2003. After 21 years, today he is part of the EEAR’s Air Support Section, contributing to the fulfillment of the institution’s mission.

His dream of becoming a graduate of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) arose when, as a child, he watched his father – Sergeant Joselito de Paula Augusto, of the Guard and Security Service (SGS) specialty, also stationed at the school that is called the “Cradle of Specialists” – proudly wear the blue uniform, motivating him to go “to the stars and beyond”, in reference to the EEAR’s motto: Ad Astra Et Ultra.

“I am very proud and grateful to the Air Force for everything I have and, above all, for the opportunity to be able to contribute to the distinguished mission of this renowned educational institution, where I was able to train and improve myself professionally so that today I can contribute to the development of skills and the transmission of knowledge to the other generations of students who enter here,” says the soldier, who is an Instructor in his specialty.

On the day of his graduation, on June 25, 2004, the young man invited his sister, who was only two years old at the time. Thus, another dream was born within the same family. Over the years, little Lívia Graziela Pereira Batista Ribeiro admired her brother for his chosen career, which sparked her passion for aviation and her desire to serve her country.

In 2021, she decided to dedicate herself even more to her studies when she learned that the EEAR would include women in the Aircraft Mechanics specialty (BMA). She sought to seize the opportunity to become a Sergeant in the Brazilian Air Force and take higher flights, inspired by her brother’s story.

On January 7, 2024, her dream began to come true when she entered the EEAR, after passing the selection process for the CFS, in the same specialty as her brother. The then-student Lívia Ribeiro made history when she joined the first class to include women in the Aircraft Mechanics specialty (BMA), with six women, and in War Material (BMB), with three women.

And it was at the Military Ceremony marking the end of the Military Adaptation Internship, on February 9, 2024, that the emotion was present, when Sergeant Augusto and student Lívia Ribeiro had an emotional meeting in the courtyard of the Student Corps. Siblings united by the blue of the FAB.

“I’ve always taken my brother’s inspiring example into account, which motivated me to choose this admirable profession. Today, I’m very happy and proud to have made the right choice and, above all, to be part of this change and contribute to breaking paradigms in my field,” said student Lívia Ribeiro.

The School of Aeronautical Specialists, which bears the title “Cradle of Specialists”, is located in Guaratinguetá (SP) and is the largest military-technical education complex in South America. With the mission of training and perfecting the graduates of the Air Force Command, the school offers around 28 specialties in different technical-professional areas, thus providing an effective whole for fulfilling the constitutional mission and subsidiary duties of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).

Since its creation on March 25, 1941, the EEAR has trained more than 70,000 professionals and perfected another 54,000 graduates, and this is the day dedicated to Air Force Specialists, as a way of praising and recognizing the work of men and women who dedicate themselves daily to the motto “fly and make fly”. Throughout its history, EEAR has stood out for its excellence in teaching and for constantly adapting its curriculum and modernizing its infrastructure, in the face of the new challenges that technological advances demand.

There are currently two ways to enter the EEAR. One is through the Sergeants’ Training Course Admission Exam (CFS), which lasts approximately two years and requires, among other things, complete high school education. The other is through the Admission Exam to the Sergeant Graduation Adaptation Internship (EAGS), which lasts approximately one year and requires the candidate to have successfully completed high school in the National Education System and to have completed a high school technical course in the desired area.
