Saab participates in the 17th edition of Navalshore with Cluster Technology Cluster in Rio de JaneiroSaab participates in the 17th edition of Navalshore with Cluster Technology Cluster in Rio de Janeiro

The aim is to foster the development of the naval sector in Brazil and offer the Swedish company’s expertise, which ranges from building ships and boats to unmanned underwater and surface vehicles.

“For this year’s event, Saab is highlighting a selection of autonomous or remotely operated vessels and underwater vehicles, which can be used in a wide range of activities. In Brazil, the underwater vehicle system is used by companies in the oil & gas and wind energy sectors, but it can also support naval security in mining countermeasures and underwater surveillance, among others.

Another of the company’s highlights is the CB90 high-performance speedboat, a solution with several functionalities that meet relevant and necessary missions in Brazil, such as patrolling rivers and coastlines, search and rescue actions and curbing illegal activities. Saab is also advancing in the development of unmanned surface vehicles, using the CB90 speedboat as a platform.

“Saab works in partnership with the Naval Technology Cluster, offering the quality of our products and solutions, which are widely used in various countries, but also with a willingness to develop Brazilian industry, with technology transfer in line with the demand and interest of the region’s market,” says Pieter Verbeek, Sales Director at Saab Brazil.

In addition to the companies’ exhibitions, Navalshore reserves a conference area for each edition to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the market. Information on the talks can be found at navalshore.com.br
