Operation Air Bridge made its third drug bust at Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo in a week. The latest seizure took place on Friday morning (15/12), after a flight from Manaus (AM) disembarked. The presence of illegal substances was identified in a passenger’s luggage. The Brazilian Air Force, working in cooperation with the Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Highway Police, conducted searches and assisted in the seizure of 13.8 kilos of skunk, a variation of marijuana. One person was arrested.

Last Tuesday (12/12), the teams found 41.8 kilos of skunk, also from Manaus, at the same airport. The drug, divided into tablets, was identified by FAB sniffer dogs in three passengers’ luggage. The material was seized and two people were arrested by the São Paulo State Civil Police.

Also in Guarulhos, on Monday night (11/12), the operation had already seized two kilos of cocaine, found during a personal search, in the waistband of a female passenger who was about to board a flight to Lisbon, Portugal. One person was arrested by the Federal Police.

Since the start of the operation on November 6, around 220 kilos of illegal goods have been seized. For Major General Luiz Guilherme da Silva Magarão, commander of the operation, the greatest achievement has been the creation of synergy between the agencies involved, which will facilitate future actions, even outside the scope of the GLO.
