Brasília (DF) – The Ministry of Defense has launched an open invitation to Brazilian society to participate in updating the National Defense Policy (PND) and the National Defense Strategy (END), documents that represent the pillars of national security. As of Wednesday (6), citizens can access the full content of these documents on the Ministry of Defense’s official website and send their contributions by May 3, via email to cgped@defesa.gov.br.

The PND and END are the country’s most important defense documents, following constitutional principles and aligned with the Fundamental National Objectives of the Brazilian State. These documents are updated every four years and submitted to the National Congress, in accordance with the guidelines of Complementary Law No. 97 of June 9, 1999.

The updating process provides for these documents to be submitted first to the Defense Sector Working Group and then to the Interministerial Working Group, before being made available to society. The contribution of Brazilian citizens, in addition to providing the community with the opportunity to express their opinions, learn more about the issues being debated in the field of Defense and make important suggestions, will assist the Ministry in revising this edition.

Take part too! Access the documents and contribute to the construction of a defense policy aligned with the interests of Brazilian society.
