The security and defense industry is about to experience one of the main events on the international calendar: the 5th edition of LAAD Security & Defense. Scheduled for April 2 to 4, 2024, at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo, the event will bring together the main players in public security, private security and defense.
As the sister event to LAAD Defence & Security, held biennially in Rio de Janeiro in odd-numbered years, LAAD Security & Defence takes place in the São Paulo capital in even-numbered years. Focusing on the security and defense sector, it brings together Brazilian and international companies dedicated to developing solutions in technologies, equipment and services for Public Security, Police Forces, Special Forces, Armed Forces, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security and Security Managers of Large Corporations, Service Concessionaires and Critical Infrastructure in Brazil and Latin America.
The fair offers an opportunity to connect exhibiting companies with qualified visitors, international delegations and public security and defense authorities.
We will have more than 150 exhibitors from 20 countries, and we will welcome 50 delegations from 35 countries, who are coming to the country to explore business opportunities with world-class suppliers,” Sergio Jardim, general director of Creative Events, the company organizing the event. He adds that 650 meetings are scheduled between exhibiting companies and official delegations.
Innovation and investment
The event takes place at a time of widespread pressure to increase efficiency in public and private security systems. Both the public and private sectors are investing considerable sums in developing technology and equipment solutions. According to the Office of the Comptroller General, of the R$16.75 billion defined in the 2023 federal budget for public security, R$10.81 billion has already been invested. In addition, the federal government has pledged to release more than R$1 billion this year from the National Public Security Fund (Portal da Transparência).
On the private sector side, the trend is for increased investment in security. According to a survey carried out earlier this year by electronic security technology company Avantia, 45% of Brazilian companies plan to increase their investment in security. The study consulted around 50 organizations in the sector.
“We expect to welcome 15,000 professionals from the sector, a qualified audience made up of authorities from the three Armed Forces, Police Forces, Special Forces, executives from the security and defense industry and government agencies, international delegations and the national production chain. LAAD Security & Defense is the ideal environment for business and for developing new commercial partnerships,” says Jardim.
Visitor registration will be available on the event’s website from January 6, 2024.
IX LAAD Security Seminar
Acting as a generator of knowledge and technical specialization, LAAD Security & Defence 2024 has scheduled the IX LAAD Security Seminar, which will take place during the three days of the fair. The program is currently being defined, taking into account future trends in security and defense, and will be announced soon.
Public Security Business Rounds
LAAD Security & Defence 2024 brings together logistics and procurement professionals from police organizations with companies that supply equipment, services and technologies. The meetings are pre-scheduled and take place in a dedicated space provided by the fair organizers.
