Taubaté (SP) – Armed and high-tech aircraft and Remotely Piloted Aircraft systems were some of the means of the Army Aviation presented to civil and military authorities who visited Fort Ricardo Kirk on July 5.
The Ministry of Defense delegation, accompanied by Army General Sérgio da Costa Negraes, Secretary of Economy and Finance, the Southeast Military Commander, Army General Guido Amin Naves, and other civil and military authorities, visited the modernized Pantera K2 and Fennec AvEx. With all the technology on board, these aircraft are employed in combat missions, combat support and logistical support for the entire Land Force. The visitors also got to know the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (SARP) categories 0, 1 and 2, vectors that keep the Army Aviation (AvEx) in the vanguard of modern combat.
“The vectors that are placed here at Army Aviation at the disposal of the Army and Brazilian society are fundamental for the defense of the country. The Ministry is sure of the importance of these vectors and we are doing everything we can to obtain resources to modernize the other aircraft and buy new ones,” said the Secretary of Budget and Institutional Organization of the Ministry of Defense, José Roberto de Moraes Rego Paiva Fernandes Junior.
The Nauru, the SARP Category 2 of the Army Aviation presented to the delegation, is the new Remotely Piloted Aircraft System and will act in highly strategic operations of surveillance, security and border monitoring, in missions supporting the land force throughout the national territory.
“The addition of the SARPs to our force will further increase our capabilities. From the moment we use these pilotless aircraft, to carry out attacks, they add to the already existing means of Army Aviation and air mobile troops, increasing even more the effectiveness of mission accomplishment,” explained the Southeast Military Commander, General Amin.
