The Farnborough International Airshow is seen as a global platform for the aerospace, aviation and defense industry

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has fulfilled its mission in England by participating, with the KC-390 Millennium, in another aviation fair, this time the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA 2022), which took place from July 18 to 22, at Farnborough Airport. The event is known as a global platform for the aerospace, aviation and defense industry, and is treated as a growth opportunity for business, providing thousands of visitors with updates on technological innovations presented by more than 1,500 exhibitors from all sectors and levels of the industry, represented by 96 countries around the world.

The Commander of the Brazilian Air Force, Air Lieutenant Brigadier Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior, visited the fair, accompanied by a committee of FAB officers, in order to get new insights into the aviation and defense environment. “We are with a multidisciplinary team, as we were at RIAT 2022, with the presence of Commanders of helicopter and transport training units, as well as the Academy to see the areas of platforms, systems, weapons. What we do here is update ourselves to marry our operational aspects, which makes it easier when it comes to specifying technical and logistical requirements for our future. At all levels, Farnborough 2022 picks up this dynamic of the aeronautical and space world”, highlights the General Officer.

Lieutenant Brigadier Baptista Junior participated in a meeting with representatives from Airbus, an aerospace and warfare company. The Executive Director of Airbus Helicopters, Bruno Even, highlighted the satisfaction of meeting with the FAB Commander. “I am happy to have had the opportunity to meet the Commander again during the Farnborough show. There has been a relationship of trust and partnership between Airbus Helicopters, the Brazilian Air Force and the Armed Forces of Brazil for a long time,” said the Executive.

Focused on commercial and airline aviation, FIA 2022 was also attended by military and Air Force representatives from different countries, who wanted to increase their fleet, seeking innovation, technology and constant development.

According to the organization of FIA 2022, the fair presents an opportunity to gather, discuss and question the main problems that affect the world through an aerospace lens, as well as to promote positive changes in the sector.

As with the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT 2022), in which FAB also participated, the event at Farnborough featured air shows and overflights of various aircraft.
