DCTA – Air Force Agency – by Lieutenant Priscila Scarparo and Major Oliveira Lima
The Director-General of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA), Lieutenant-Air Brigadier Maurício Augusto Silveira de Medeiros, represented the Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant-Air Brigadier Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior, at the plenary meeting promoted by the Brazilian Defense and Security Materials Industries Association (ABIMDE), which took place on September 16, in São José dos Campos (SP).
The meeting included a series of lectures on subjects related to the Defense and Security Industry, and the themes discussed were: “Perspectives for the Defense Industrial Base (BID): Evolution of Legal Frameworks” and the “Vision of the Ministry of Defense”.
Lieutenant-Brigadier Medeiros highlighted the availability of DCTA and the Air Force Command to support defense industries. “Our structure and the expertise of our institutes’ professionals have always contributed to the development of our Defense Industrial Base. We have the Aeronautics Technological Institute – which represents the Academy – the state support and the relationship with the industries, that is, a fertile ground for us to seek expressive results in the triple helix environment”, he said.
After the meeting, an institutional visit was made to the facilities of Mac Jee, an institution that has been in the market for over a decade and has a diversified portfolio in defense solutions and energy materials. The company stands out for its potential and capacity to develop high quality products with exclusive technology, acting in the Defense and Aerospace segments, being responsible for the entire production cycle, which guarantees total autonomy to its customers.
The voice of the Defense and Security industries
Acting as “The voice of the Defense and Security Industrial Base”, ABIMDE is officially recognized as the main Association of the sector. The Association promotes and values national companies within the national territory and abroad, and has actively participated in all phases of the “life” of the products and services of its members. This makes it an important vector of knowledge about the sector.
It has been more than 35 years working in the dissemination of the value of Brazilian companies, through events, contacts, and relationships with all governmental spheres – federal, state, and municipal – presenting the desires of entrepreneurs and the challenges to be overcome.
