Agreement has the objective of fomenting scientific-technological cooperation between the Institutions

The Director General of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DCTA), Air Lieutenant Brigadier Maurício Augusto Silveira de Medeiros, signed, on July 18, a Memorandum of Understanding with the objective of fomenting scientific-technological cooperation with the Association of Technology Park of São José dos Campos (APTSJC). The ceremony was held at the Park and the agreement aims at the joint implementation and execution of actions, programs and projects of common interest between the institutions.
The Director of DCTA, Lieutenant Brigadier Medeiros, as well as the Director of the Technology Park, Jeferson Cheriegate, reinforced the commitment to direct their best efforts in the observation of good sustainability practices, respect for the environment and the search for the development of technologies with a positive impact on achieving the goals set by the region and the country. “This partnership aims to encourage Institutional Cooperation, by promoting meetings that foster scientific-technological prospecting, sharing human resources, laboratories, and equipment, as well as the reciprocal dissemination and availability of portfolios,” explained Lieutenant Brigadier Medeiros.
After formalizing the partnership and signing the document, the participants went on a tour of the Technology Park, getting to know, among other companies and projects, the Nexus, an environment for connecting companies, investors and educational institutions, with acceleration programs that stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship.
“The São José dos Campos region is a fertile environment for innovation, and our intention is to take advantage of all available opportunities to multiply efforts and leverage our Space Program. This visit ratifies DCTA’s will to open its doors and build bridges to overcome embargos, involving the expertise of our partners in the same direction,” concluded the General Officer.
DCTA’s entourage included the Vice-Director, Air Major-Brigadier Mauro Bellintani; the Chief of the Governance Coordination, Brigadier Engineer André Eduardo Jansen and the Director of the Institute of Aeronautics and Space (IAE), Air Brigadier César Augusto O’Donnell Alván.
Technology Park of São José dos Campos
The Technological Park of São José dos Campos (PqTec) is a pioneer in the state of São Paulo. It was created by the São José dos Campos City Hall and the São Paulo State Government with the objective of being a protagonist in the development of the region and the country, being a great articulator for the creation of new technologies, products, and processes, a fundamental piece for innovative entrepreneurship throughout the country.
