The Ministry of Defense (MD), through the Secretariat of Defense Products (SEPROD), received on Monday (3), the visit of representatives of the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (Fiesc). During the meeting, they discussed the synergy in the flow of information between the Armed Forces and the industry during the production process in the area of defense.
With industrial production aligned to the demands of the Armed Forces, an increase in the consumption of the national product is expected, generating market expansion and, consequently, heating up the economy. In the occasion, the Secretary of Defense Products, Rui Chagas Mesquita, emphasized the importance of the meeting: “By reconciling the production capabilities of the defense industry to the demands of the Armed Forces, we will be able to give more emphasis to the national product, which is one of our main premises”.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Defense Products Department, Rear-Admiral Vagner Belarmino de Oliveira; the Director of the Trade Promotion Department, Brigadier Antonio Ferreira de Lima Júnior; the President of the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina, Mario Cezar de Aguiar; and the President of the Defense Industry Committee of Fiesc, Cesar Olsen.
