Protecta presents new technological solutions during LAADProtecta presents new technological solutions during LAAD

Novelties include ballistic vests with nanotechnology applied to the fibers, and armor for police vehicles made of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene

The Brazilian company Protecta Defesa & Segurança will take innovative solutions for the ballistic protection market to LAAD 2023. During the event, Ballistic Body armor NIJ 0101.06 certified produced with graphene nanoparticles will be launched, making the product lighter, more flexible, and ensuring the high performance of the solutions that carry the brand, as well as Stand Alone Ballistic Plates level III and III+, dressed in external covers full of innovation that provides better mobility and quick release.
The concept of innovative armor for military and public safety vehicles will also be presented, developed with ballistic fabric in ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Protecta is a pioneer in this type of solution.

LAAD is the most important defense and security fair in Latin America. The event will take place from April 11 to 14, at Riocentro, Rio de Janeiro, and will bring together major companies and organizations in the sector. The last edition, held in 2019, had about 40,000 qualified visitors, 133 official delegations from 81 countries, and 450 exhibitors.

“We have prepared important launches in technological solutions for life protection for LAAD. We are tireless, restless, and constant, always evolving, and we will show the Defense and Security market that we have developed pioneering and innovative products in Brazil, products that are second to none in the best global solutions. A lot is said about ballistic protection technologies with nanotechnology, graphene and special fabrics, and for us this is already a reality and available to the market”, affirms Victor Gallo, Protecta’s CEO.

Bullet Proof Vests

The ballistic vests developed with nanotechnology by Protecta bring, allied to high performance, very low weight and a lot of flexibility for those who will use them. “We are moving from Level IIIA solutions of 4.8 kg/m2 to 4.2 kg/m2, with performance even higher for a Level 3A vest. In addition, the biggest motto of the product is flexibility and perceived comfort. The less weight the operator carries, the greater his or her ability to make decisions, run faster, wield a weapon better, have more ergonomics to perform his or her mission. The performance of the operation tends to be better,” details Victor.

According to him, the new ballistic solutions can be customized in tactical vests, concealed, ostensive, that is, they can adapt to what the customer wants. “Our culture is to put the client at the center of everything, we identify his needs and deliver what he expects, always based on TRUST and SECURITY. It only makes sense for us when it makes sense for our clients, we exceed expectations, generating value from all sides.”

Victor explains, “The solutions we develop represent evolution, innovation, a big step towards product excellence. The market is used to heavier, more rigid solutions. We are breaking some paradigms of technological advance with respect to weight and flexibility, without leaving aside the high performance that the product needs to have.

“What we are presenting are totally innovative solutions in Brazil. We haven’t seen similar solutions here yet. One of our products that is being launched carries technology that some special forces in the United States already use.”

Armor

Protecta will also launch, during LAAD, a new solution of automotive armoring, for operational vehicles. “We are talking about a new concept of vehicle armoring that was thought for institutional fleets, of public security. It is totally innovative, very flexible in its installation, and highly resistant to multiple shots. Besides its effectiveness, it is light, flexible, and versatile when it comes to installation, ensuring compliance with Art. 68 ORDINANCE No 94 – COLOG, OF AUGUST 16, 2019,” explains Victor.

The launch is the product Pro UDB1, produced with ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, providing lightness and high resistance to multiple threats of 9mm and .44mag, ensuring better performance when compared to conventional armor made with aramid.
