The Minister of Defense, Paulo Sérgio Nogueira de Oliveira, received in his office, at the headquarters of the Department, the visit of the president of the Defense and Security Industry Thematic Council (Condefense) and Executive Vice President of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), Glauco José Côrte.
At the hearing, held on Thursday (28), the authorities discussed the partnership between Condefesa, CNI, and the Ministry of Defense for the development of the Defense Industrial Base (BID), a sector that represents 4.78% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and hit export records in 2021 with the sale of US$ 1.7 billion abroad.
Also present were the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces (Cemcfa), Army General Laerte de Souza Santos; the Secretary of Personnel, Health and Sports and Social Projects (Sepesd), Air Lieutenant Brigadier R/1 Jeferson Domingues de Freitas; and the Director of Financing and Defense Economics, Air Major Marcos Aurelio Pereira Silva.
