Berlin and Dresden (Germany) – On July 6, the Commander of the Army and his delegation participated in a meeting with representatives of several companies that are part of the defense industrial base in Germany. In the first part of the activity, the companies presented current and future defense products and projects that may be of interest to the Ground Force.
Afterwards, company representatives and invited military attachés had the opportunity to learn more about the Army’s Strategic Portfolio and its Programs. The main objective of the meeting was to establish new contacts and strengthen existing ties between the Brazilian Army, friendly nations and German defense companies, all with a view to establishing and expanding partnerships in research, development and manufacture of high-tech defense products, both in Brazil and in friendly nations.
Closing the agenda of his official visit to Germany, the Army Commander visited the Army Officers School (“Offizierschule des Heeres”), located in the city of Dresden. The Brazilian delegation was received by Colonel Karsten Jahn, acting Commander and Director of Education of that military educational establishment, where the Army Commander and his delegation had the opportunity to learn about the similarities and distinctions between the German and Brazilian Armies regarding the selection and training processes of officers. On the occasion, negotiations were also made to increase exchange activities between the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras and the Offizierschule des Heeres.
