Rosário do Sul (RS) – From September 10 to 19, the 6th Armored Infantry Brigade (6th Bda Inf Bld) held Exercise Steel Fists. Held at the Barão de São Borja Training Camp, Saicã, the activity is part of the brigade’s certification process as a Readiness Force. The exercise involved more than 1,400 soldiers and around 270 vehicles.

This was the 2nd Operational Readiness Cycle in 2023, in which the organic units of the 6th Bda Inf Bld took part, forming an Armored Task Force led by the 7th Armored Infantry Battalion, “Regimento Gomes Carneiro”. In addition to the operational readiness, the March to Combat and the Attack were carried out, ending with the Harnessing of Success.

Readiness Forces

Readiness Forces (FORPRON) are troops (including Division Commands, selected Brigades and specialized modules) certified as ready to carry out the Land Force’s ultimate missions, with emphasis on external defense and safeguarding Brazilian interests abroad. In 2022, 10 brigades were certified as Operational Readiness Forces (FORPRON), accrediting approximately 9,150 military personnel.

The certification process lasts one year and is divided into three phases: preparation, certification and readiness.
