Space brings together 25 companies representing the defense and aerospace sector

The 23rd edition of the International Air and Space Fair, FIDAE, the Aerospace, Defense and Security Exhibition, which runs until the 14th at Arturo Merino Benítez Airport in Santiago, Chile, has officially opened. After the official opening ceremony, which was broadcast on the fair’s YouTube channel, various authorities took part in the inauguration of the Brazil Pavilion.

Present at the unveiling of the banner were the Brazilian Ambassador to Chile, Paulo Roberto Soares Pacheco; the Minister of State for Defense, José Mucio Monteiro Filho; the Commander of the Brazilian Air Force, Air Force Lieutenant Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno; the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Fleet Admiral Renato Rodrigues de Aguiar Freire; the Secretary of Defense Products of the Ministry of Defense, Rui Chagas Mesquita; the Coordinator of Sector Projects – Apex-Brasil, Paulo Roberto da Silva; and the Executive President of ABIMDE, General Aderico Mattioli.

In yet another action to support the national industry, ABIMDE is responsible for coordinating and managing the Brazil Pavilion, with 25 companies representing the most advanced products in the defense and aerospace market. The national exhibitors will demonstrate their portfolio to customers and the various delegations present, in an environment covering more than 15,000 square meters.

On this first day of the fair, the Brazil Pavilion was visited by the Chilean Minister of National Defense, Maya Fernández Allense, who toured the stands of the member companies and learned about the quality of Brazil’s important production.

FIDAE is a multi-sector event, covering the areas of civil and commercial aviation; defense; airport equipment and services; homeland security; aircraft maintenance and space technology; UAVs (RPAS) and cybersecurity. The fair is attended by more than 40 countries, 456 exhibiting companies and more than 420 official and professional delegations.

For ABIMDE’s project director, Colonel Antonio Ribeiro, FIDAE is a unique opportunity for companies to present their latest products and services. “The fair attracts a wide range of participants, including representatives from governments, the military and private companies. This creates an environment conducive to establishing strategic partnerships and commercial agreements. The defense, security and aerospace industries will be well represented,” he said.

The national industry companies represented at FIDAE are: Aegis Lanternas Taticas, AEL Sistemas; AERO Concepts; Algemas Brasil; ARES; Atech; Avionics Services; Axon’ Cable Brasil; Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos – CBC; Condor S.A. Indústria Química; Dupont; Embraer; GESPI Indústria e Comércio de Equipamentos Aeronáuticos; IACIT Soluções Tecnológicas; IAS – Indústria de Aviação e Serviços; IDV – Iveco Veículos de Defesa; Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil – IMBEL; Jandaya Solutions; Mac Jee; Panair LLC (ZML Technology); Ocellott; Omnisys; Saipher ATC; Sirius Flight Test; and Taurus.

The Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), is also present at Espaço Brasil. The AEB is responsible for formulating, coordinating and executing the Brazilian Space Policy, making efforts to promote the autonomy of the space sector.
