Akaer Engenharia S.A. has just achieved, this May, the ISO 14001 certification, the most important international environmental management certification, recognizing the company’s commitment to minimize the environmental impact of its operations and to promote sustainability.
Since 2022, the company has been carrying out several improvement actions to prevent pollution and reduce environmental impacts, in search of a better coexistence with nature and the certification. The company went through a rigorous audit and proved to be in compliance with the requirements of the standard. The document was issued by the Certification Body TÜV NORD Brasil. The certification process refers to engineering, design, research and development services in structures, systems, manufacturing and industrialization for the aerospace, defense and general industry markets.
Among the actions that involved the commitment of all its 600 employees, are the reduction in the consumption of natural resources, such as electricity, generation and treatment of waste, implementation of operational controls at various levels of the company – including formalization of environmental commitments throughout the supply chain.
The environmental issue has always been one of Akaer’s corporate values in the development and manufacturing of its products. “The environmental certification was the means chosen by Akaer to attest that our environmental practices and results are the result of structured methods, aimed at the continuous improvement of our environmental performance,” said Maria Fernanda Carneiro Novaes, the company’s Quality Director.
