Taurus and Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos (CBC), through their Magtech brand in the international civilian market, are exhibitors at SHOT Show 2024, the world’s largest arms and ammunition fair, which takes place from January 23 to 26 in Las Vegas, United States.

The show has more than 2,500 exhibitors, brings together retailers, wholesalers and distributors in a total area of 74,000 m², and attracts buyers from all US states and more than 100 countries. The event is restricted to members of the arms and ammunition, hunting, military and foreign trade industries, including consumers and dealers of military, police and tactical products.

The Taurus and CBC stands, located in a prominent area, feature the complete portfolio of weapons and ammunition, including the brands’ successful products aimed at the shooting sports, hunting and defense segments, and novelties developed at Taurus’ Brazil-United States Integrated Technology and Engineering Center (CITE) and CBC’s Innovation Center.

The SHOT Show is a great opportunity for Brazilian multinationals to explore business opportunities in the international market and further expand their prominence abroad, especially in the United States, the world’s largest arms and ammunition market. In 2024, there is a prospect of a boost in sales due to the US elections scheduled for November, which historically tend to trigger an increase in demand for weapons in the country, due to insecurity about the policy to be adopted.

On this occasion, Taurus is presenting its newest and unprecedented bolt-action rifle for the North American market, the Taurus Expedition, in the .308 Winchester caliber, with new calibers expected to be launched in the future. The Taurus Expedition is one of the most versatile and specific hunting rifles on the market, designed by hunters and specially developed to suit the wide range of triggers, mounts, tripods and magazines available on the market.

Another novelty is the Lever-Action R95 rifle, with side ejection, available in calibers such as .30-30 WIN, 444 Marlin, 45-70 GOV, among others, in the Classic, Trapper, Triple-Black and Laminate models.

Taurus also launches the Ranch Hand, a compact version of the traditional Lever-Action Puma (Centerfire) and Rio Bravo (Rimfire) rifles; and expands the Break-Action Single-Shot rifle portfolio with the new Montenegro Centerfire (LWC) model in calibers such as . 300 Blackout, .350 Legend, 5.56, 6.5 Creedmoor, .44 Magnum and .357 Magnum; and Montenegro Shotgun, which includes the 32 Gauge, 28 Gauge, 16 Gauge and 12 Gauge calibers.

Visitors to the company’s stand will also find models of tactical weapons that are internationally recognized by the military and police forces, such as the various versions of the T4 assault rifle, in 5.56, 7.62 and .300 BLK calibres, the T9 submachine gun in 9 mm calibre and the T10 semi-automatic precision rifle in .308 Win/7.62×51 calibre.

In the pistol range, Taurus is exhibiting models from its innovative family of products finished in Cerakote® Graphene, including: TH 380 and the compact TH 380c version, in .380 AUTO caliber; GX4, GX4 XL and the new GX4 CARRY, from the GX4 series, awarded Best Value Handgun by Ballistic Magazine and Handgun of the Year by Guns and Ammo Magazine, and 58HC PLUS in .380 ACP caliber.

Also noteworthy are the TH9 pistols, from the TH series, the TS9 and its compact TS9c version, from the TS series. The models are ideal for police, military and special forces use under extreme conditions, as well as personal defense.

Also on display at the event were the well-established Taurus revolvers, the new RT 605 Executive Grade, a highlight among the launches, and the RT 856, RT 605 and RT 327 Federal models in the T.O.R.O. version. In addition to the line of Rossi-brand Taurus revolvers, renowned for their classic features and modern manufacturing techniques, including the RP63 and RM66, with a 6-shot capacity in .38 SPL and .357 MAG calibres.

Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos (CBC), through its Magtech brand on the international civilian market, is also exhibiting its renowned products, including innovative, high-performance solutions and various launches aimed at the shooting sports, hunting and defense segments.

At SHOT Show 2024, the brand is officially presenting Magtech Steel ammunition, which stands out for its precision and performance, making it ideal for training. The novelty features a premium zinc-plated steel case in 9mm Luger caliber, boxer-type fuze and FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) projectile with weights of 115gr and 124gr.

Jean Castanho, Taurus Engineering Manager, Regis Jacobsen, Taurus International Sales Manager, Salesio Nuhs, Taurus Global CAA, Bret Vorhees, Taurus USA CEO, Justin Porlier, Taurus USA Vice President of Sales, and Eduardo Minghelli, Taurus Supply Chain Director.

Broadening its focus on hunting ammunition, the company is launching two new calibers in the Hunting Line, the traditional .30-30 WIN and .30-06 Springfield, as well as expanding its portfolio with new projectiles in existing calibers, including the JSP (Jacket Soft Point) and HPBT (Hollow Point Boat Tail) versions for .223 REM, .308 WIN, 6.5 Creedmoor and .300 Blackout.

CBC is also launching three new product lines free of lead and other heavy metals, in response to the growing demand for “green” ammunition: Lead Free First Defense, with a solid copper hollow point projectile, aimed at personal defense and police forces; the Zinc Bullet line, with a zinc projectile, focused on training and shooting sports; and Lead Free Frangible ammunition, with a Sinterfire projectile, designed to disintegrate into small particles after impacting the target, minimizing possible collateral damage. All the new products feature the traditional CBC Clean Range fuze, which is totally non-toxic.

Part of these CBC products or variations of them, depending on demand, market issues, certification and current legislation, are planned to be launched in Brazil between 2024 and 2025.
