Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On September 21, the Arsenal de Guerra do Rio (AGR) held a military graduation with an exhibition to highlight another batch of Military Employment Materials (MEM) manufactured and maintained by this military organization. On the occasion, the Deputy Director of the AGR emphasized that this achievement was the result of the hard work and dedication of all the members of the Arsenal de Guerra who, imbued with a high spirit of professionalism and dedication, overcame all the challenges along the way and managed to achieve the goals set by the Higher Echelon.
The Chief of the Army’s Science and Technology Department, Army General Achilles Furlan Neto, the Head of the Engineering Material Directorate, Division General Paulo Afonso Bruno de Melo, and the Manufacturing Director, Division General Tales Eduardo Areco Villela, were also present at the AGR on the same day. The visitors were able to get up close and personal with this latest achievement by the Rio War Arsenal.
In all, nine units of the revitalized 120 mm Heavy Mortar (Mtr P 120 M2 R1) were delivered. It is important to note that the revitalization consists of complete disassembly, metrological inspection, replacement of all items that have undergone design changes and preventive and corrective maintenance. Also handed over were two units of Complete Aluminum Floating Treadmill Equipment produced by AGR and an Armored Wheel Loader. The materials on display will be delivered to the various units of the Brazilian Army present in all corners of the country, thus guaranteeing an increase in the Brazilian Army’s operational and combative capacity.
