Radar SABER M200 Vigilante embarks to monitor the airspace in ParintinsRadar SABER M200 Vigilante embarks to monitor the airspace in Parintins

Brasília (DF) – On June 20, the SABER M200 Vigilante radar, developed by the Army Technology Center (CTEx) and produced by Embraer Defense & Security, was embarked for the first time on a Brazilian Air Force KC-390 aircraft, bound for Parintins, in the state of Amazonas. This complex logistical operation involved the participation of the Brazilian Army, the Brazilian Air Force, Embraer, the Parintins City Hall, and the management of Viracopos and Paritins airports.

The objective of this experimental operation is to use the SABER M200 radar to monitor and control the airspace at the Júlio Belém Airport in Parintins. With a threat detection capability of up to 15 km in altitude, the radar is able to identify and track both civil and military aircraft. The equipment will remain in operation in the region until July 7.

The SABER M200 is a multi-mission, medium-altitude, three-dimensional anti-air defense radar. It uses advanced electronic scanning technology to detect and track aircraft. In addition, the radar can simultaneously track multiple air targets and has the capability to guide missiles, as well as perform surveillance, weather and approach missions within a 45-kilometer radius.

An important highlight is that the SABER M200 is the first fixed-panel radar available on the world market, which allows it to be installed in a 20-foot (6.096-meter) container. This feature provides greater ease of transport and mobility. The radar has diverse applications, and can be used in surveillance and early warning activities in anti-aircraft artillery batteries and groups, air traffic control and border surveillance.

The successful operation of the SABER M200 in Parintins represents a significant advance in monitoring Brazilian airspace, contributing to the security and defense of the country. The radar, with its advanced technology and multifunctional capabilities, promises to play a key role in air protection and surveillance.

Armed Forces intensify repressive actions in the scope of Operation Agate Northern Border

Manaus (AM) – This week, the Armed Forces operated in the “Ouro Mil” mining operation on the Uraricoera river. During the operation, they seized motors used in the boats, generators that made it possible to carry out the mining activities, and household appliances used by the miners as logistical support. The action ended with the total deactivation of the mine.

The Armed Forces have a long history of cooperation with other agencies in preserving and combating environmental crimes, always in full compliance with current laws, and always ready to contribute to Brazilian society. In the context of Operation Agata Northern Border, the Armed Forces are carrying out a series of coordinated actions with agencies that have legal powers in the Yanomami Indigenous Territory in the state of Roraima. Among the objectives is a repressive action focused on illegal mining.
