Brasília (DF) – On March 14, the Army’s Communications and Electronic Warfare Command (CCOMGEX) received a visit from the Commander of Land Operations, Army General André Luis Novaes Miranda, accompanied by the Head of the Science and Technology Department (DCT), Army General Achilles Furlan Neto.

There was a demonstration of the operational capabilities of the 1st Electronic Warfare Battalion (1º BGE) and the Command and Control Company (Cia C2). Novaes was able to check out the troops’ readiness, as well as come into contact with specialized electronic warfare, cybernetics and communications equipment.

CCOMGEX focuses its main activities on logistics procedures for communications, electronics and information technology equipment, through the Logistics Center, and on training in communications, electronic warfare and cyber warfare, through the Communications School and the Electronic Warfare Training Center. The organization is also responsible for operational deployment, as well as coordination and planning activities for the detection and decision support subsystem of the Integrated Border Monitoring System (SISFRON) Strategic Program.

The activity was also attended by the DCT’s Head of Command, Control and Information, Major General Eduardo Wolski; the Head of Ground Force Preparedness, Major General Claúdio Henrique da Silva Plácido; the Head of Peace Missions, Aviation and Inspector General of Military Police, Major General Ricardo Luiz da Cunha Rabêlo; the Head of the Army Doctrine Center, Major General Fabiano Lima de Carvalho and the Head of the DCT’s Planning and Management Office, Major General Maurício Vieira Gama.
