First aircraft to be delivered in 2026

The Dutch Ministry of Defense confirmed last Thursday (16) that it will buy five C-390M freighter aircraft, manufactured by Embraer. According to the Dutch government, the first aircraft should be delivered in 2026.

The country is a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The cost of the purchase is estimated at 1 billion Euros.

According to a statement issued by the agency, the Embraer aircraft was chosen because it has operational and technical advantages over Lockheed Martin’s C-130J, another model frequently used by military forces in several countries.

In a statement, Embraer celebrated the Dutch government’s announcement and said it is honored by the decision.
