Working together with public and private science and technology institutes from all over the country, ABIMDE is opening up new channels for dialog and debate, with the aim of fostering the development and production of innovative solutions for BIDS.
“In a world where defense and public security products are increasingly sophisticated, being at the forefront is imperative. To stay on top, you have to innovate and reinvent yourself every day,” says ABIMDE’s CEO, General Aderico Mattioli.
He points to the first edition of InovaBIDS as an initial step in the development of a collective effort between academia, government entities and the defense and security industries in search of innovation.
Among the topics to be discussed at the event are “Emerging technologies in defense and security”, which will address how quantum computing, metamaterials, artificial intelligence and other innovations are impacting defense and security systems.
Another panel will deal with “Future-oriented technological capabilities”, which aims to establish a forecast of the direction of the defense and security industry and the benefits of these new systems for society.
“RD&I and sovereignty” is another topic to be addressed by InovaBIDS participants. The aim is to analyze how the actions of companies at the different stages of creating a defense product (research, development and innovation) can generate an effective scenario, strengthening national sovereignty.
Another topic up for debate will be “Sources for fostering innovation: incremental; innovation proper; and disruptive”, which will provide an analysis of the three types of innovation and the possible sources of funds to be applied to each of them.
“InovaBIDS will be attended by various companies, organizations and institutions. It’s an initiative that’s here to stay, which will be integrated into the Defense sector’s official calendar. The idea is for it to become an event that highlights regional potential in order to strengthen our industrial base,” Mattioli said.
