Event takes place on October 21 and 22 to strengthen the female presence in science, technology and innovation
Embraer and its division dedicated to developing disruptive businesses, Embraer-X, are participating on October 21 and 22 in the 1st International Congress of Women in STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics – to be held at the Technology Park of São José dos Campos, São Paulo.
The event is organized together with professors from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) and aims to expand connections and integration between academia, industry and political agents to strengthen internationally the actions related to Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) that include the performance of women.
It will be two days of lectures, round tables, presentations of academic papers, workshops, and a plenary session designed to discuss actions for the future. Embraer and Embraer-X will present an interactive exhibition about the women who work in the innovation, engineering and technology areas of the company.
“The congress is a great opportunity to promote dialogue about the role of women in organizations and discuss their importance in the areas of innovation, science and technology” said Larissa Maraccini, Director of Human Resources Expertise at Embraer. “At Embraer, we are committed to encouraging female participation in exact careers and to creating a work environment that is increasingly attractive to the personal and professional development of every woman.”
Previously known only as the STEM concept, the movement introduced the letter “A”, for Arts, to encourage the creative side and communication for the formation of professionals with interpersonal skills.
