Thirteen new flight inspection system inspector pilots and operators were graduated on Thursday (11/10)

Aircraft safety! This is how one can define the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) flight inspection activity. And, to exalt the importance of this activity, the Airspace Control Department (DECEA) held, on Thursday (11/10), the military graduation ceremony of the flight inspection course, in a solemn session held at the Airspace Control Institute (ICEA), in São José dos Campos (SP).

The ceremony was attended by the Commander of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), Air Lieutenant Brigadier Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior, the Director-General of the Airspace Control Department, Air Lieutenant Brigadier João Tadeu Fiorentini, the Director-General of the Aerospace Science and Technology Department, Air Lieutenant Brigadier Maurício Augusto Silveira de Medeiros; as well as by FAB officers and civil and military authorities.

“The main function of DECEA and the Air Force is the responsibility with the safety of air navigation and this involves all the links of the system. The importance of this service provided by the FAB is in being faithful to the reality that brings safety to the users, the passengers, and to the system operators. This is very important for our country,” said the Director General of DECEA, Lieutenant Brigadier Fiorentini.

On the occasion, Air Force Captain Caroline Pedretti Gonzaga, first place in the course, with a final average of 10, received her graduation diploma. “It is a great satisfaction to be part of such a select group that has contributed greatly to the safety of air navigation in our country,” she said.

The solemnity was also marked by the delivery of the Honorary Pilot Inspector title to the FAB Commander, Lieutenant Brigadier Baptista Junior, to the President of the Airspace Control System Implementation Commission, Air Major Brigadier Sérgio Barros de Oliveira, and to the Director of the Galeão Aeronautical Material Park, Brigadier Engineer Alexandre Arthur Massena Javoski.

The Commander of the Special Group of Flight Inspection (GEIV), Lieutenant-Colonel Aviator Bruno Michel Marcondes Alves, while delivering the Honorary Pilot Inspector badges, described the activity and highlighted its importance for the safety of aircraft in circulation in the country. “The in-flight inspection activity is an Air Force mission responsible for ensuring the quality of operation of all air navigation aids and procedures in Brazil, which are used by military and civilian aircraft, both domestic and foreign. The responsibility of the inspector pilot, as a technical authority, is to maintain the operation of all these aids”, he concluded.
