Negotiation and shock action will be the activities carried out by the Task Force

On Monday (11), the Brazilian Navy (MB) began the Organic Security/Retake and Rescue Training Exercise (RETREX-SE I/23), which will be held until next Friday (15), at the Transmission Post of the Navy Radio Station in Rio de Janeiro (ERMRJ), in Duque de Caxias (RJ). As part of the actions, a Task Force is being activated to rescue the personnel and retake the ERMRJ facilities, using methods of negotiation and shock action, with the use of special forces.

Over the course of the five days, more than 160 military personnel from different areas are involved in carrying out the exercise. RETREX-SE I/23 tests the readiness of the security structure to deal with emergency situations, as well as the time it takes to activate threat response teams in a risky environment. The ability to activate and execute action plans and assess the level of decision-making by negotiators will also be checked.

The purpose of the exercise is to train the units of the Area Coordinating Command, in mutual support, with regard to organic security, as well as the MB teams in the area of jurisdiction of the 1st Naval District Command, in rescuing personnel and retaking facilities of interest to the Navy. To this end, a series of events will be produced, involving the invasion of a Military Organization on land, and the simulation of real actions that will test the reaction capacity of the components of the Task Force, exploring emotional balance in moments of tension, negotiation techniques, the work of the press office and the readiness of naval, aerial and marine resources to provide isolation of the scene of action.
