Operation “BraColPer 2023” began on July 10 to strengthen ties and interoperability between the navies of Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. The actions also aim to increase the presence of Naval Power in the Triple Frontier region.
On July 11, the Brazilian Navy’s River Patrol Vessel “Raposo Tavares” and the Hospital Assistance Vessel “Soares de Meirelles” conducted the Asymmetric Threat Exercise. It simulates the approach, possibly hostile, of a small vessel to the ship. To address this potential threat, the gradual use of force is employed, prioritizing the use of non-lethal resources, to neutralize the threat.
“BraColPer” is divided into three phases and takes place between July and September in the participating countries. Also part of the operation are the Patrol Vessel “Amapá” and an aircraft from the 1st Northwest General Employment Helicopter Squadron.
