The Armed Forces spent 60 days supporting the population of the southern region of the country, hit by heavy rains. Around 1,300 military personnel from the Navy, Army and Air Force were deployed in 64 municipalities in the South, where they carried out search and rescue activities for victims; aeromedical evacuations; clearing and cleaning roads; setting up tents; medical support; transporting materials; sorting and delivering donated clothes and food; and setting up internet communication systems.

The military personnel initially worked in Rio Grande do Sul (RS), but extended their actions when heavy rains and floods hit the states of Santa Catarina and Paraná, following the publication of GM-MD Ordinance No. 5,299 of October 30, 2023. A total of 68 specialized engineering resources were used; 222 vehicles; 9 aircraft; 20 vessels; 20 ambulances; 04 Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS); and 4 amphibious armoured vehicles.

During the operations, 2,806 medical and dental consultations were carried out; 22,000 roof tiles distributed; 9,029 m³ of donations and miscellaneous materials transported (393 medium trucks); 22,169 m³ of debris removed (1,847 dump trucks); and 17 cisterns installed.
