Monte Caseros (Argentina) – On Monday, 31, Operation Arandu began in Argentina, a joint field exercise between the Brazilian Army and the Argentine Army. The first activity of the exercise was a graduation that brought together fractions of all troops at the Duque de Caxias Operational Education Center – named after the Patron of the Brazilian Army. With the participation of 300 Brazilian troops and 348 Argentine troops, as well as the use of vehicles and aircraft from both countries, Operation Arandu will continue until Friday, March 4.

After the graduation, a meeting was held with the commanders of all troops to distribute orders. For the exercise co-director and commander of the Brazilian troops in the activity, Brigadier General Janjar, the realization of Operation Arandu in Argentina represents the culmination of three years of hard work. “It’s our two armies working together as a combined force, strengthening our motto ‘Strength, Unity and Integration’.”

Also co-director of the exercise and commander of the Argentine troops in the operation, General Torres emphasized that the activity serves to align techniques and procedures for possible future collaboration. “The exercise expresses the intention of both armies to work together in military operations. To this end, we have gathered our best troops and resources.” On Tuesday, August 1, training will be conducted on airborne embarkation and disembarkation, infiltration, and doctrinal exchange with the Argentine Army.

Until August 4, the Brazilian and Argentine armies are conducting Operation Arandu, an exercise between the two forces aimed at consolidating military cooperation between the two countries and strengthening the bonds of unity, cooperation, and friendship between the armies of the two nations. With the participation of 300 soldiers from the Brazilian Army and 348 from the Argentine Army, the operation will include the use of aircraft and armored vehicles from both countries.

From the Brazilian Army, military personnel from the Army General Staff, the Land Operations Command, the Southern Military Command, the Army Social Communication Center, the 2nd Mechanized Cavalry Brigade, the 12th Light Infantry Brigade (Aeromobile), the Paratrooper Infantry Brigade, the Army Aviation Command and the Special Operations Command will participate.
